Viewings and Personal Advice
I understand that ordering online can sometimes be difficult, especially when it comes to something as personal as a piece of jewelry made from the hair of your beloved horse. I can therefore well imagine that you’d like to see the jewelry in person and hand over the hair yourself. You can view a large part of the collection in person, get advice, and have your measurements taken at Nederlof Jewelry in De Lier.
I’m here every Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. to offer you personalized advice and answer any questions you may have (please note that it can get busy at times, so you may have to wait a bit). On weekdays, I work by appointment so that we can take the time to explore the best options for your jewelry together. Would you like to stop by? Custom made
Designing jewelry and crafting it in our own workshop is something we do almost every day! There are so many possibilities, and a piece of jewelry is very personal. If you can’t find exactly what you’re looking for in our current collection, or if you’ve already come up with a design and are looking for someone to bring it to life, you’ve come to the right place. We have a very well-equipped workshop where we can also melt down your “own gold” and turn it into jewelry—for example, a wedding ring you no longer wear or one you’ve inherited. If you’re interested in a custom design, I’d prefer that you make an appointment to discuss your wishes in person at the store.
Aviiso since 2015
After my horse Camie passed away in 2009, a friend at the stable gave me a bracelet she had made herself using a strand of hair from Camie’s tail. I was very impressed by it. A few years later, her best friend was also put to sleep, and I did the same thing. I received a lot of positive feedback on this bracelet, so I started making jewelry like this for friends and acquaintances.
In early 2015, I began designing my first collection, and in April 2015, the Aviiso website went live. Thanks to a wonderful and productive collaboration with goldsmith Gerwin Nederlof, we’ve had an extensive collection of sterling silver and 14-karat gold pieces since 2016.
At the end of 2018, I began taking a goldsmithing course at theZadkine vocational schoolin Schoonhoven. After every class, I returned full of inspiration for new designs and eager to get to work creating the most beautiful keepsakes for you. I now craft most of the jewelry myself, and I can always rely on Gerwin’s expertise for any questions—he also regularly takes on highly complex custom commissions.
10th Anniversary
Over the years, we have continually adapted and refined our collection. We have learned from our customers’ feedback, continued to develop our own creativity, and, of course, we have not been afraid to take on new challenges. Each adjustment has led to an increasingly strong foundation on which we can continue to build.
The Future
We are incredibly excited about the new designs we’ll be creating. Our custom jewelry is so much more than just unique designs. It carries our customers’ stories, memories, and emotions, and that’s what makes it so special. We truly appreciate that so many customers have given us the opportunity to create something so personal for them. Every design is a collaboration where your story and our creativity come together, and we hope to continue doing this for a long time to come!
